Original Authentic Poster for the May 2007 Album Release of * American Doll Posse * , the ninth studio album by singer-songwriter Tori Amos. American Doll Posse, debuting at US #5, made this Tori's sixth album to debut in the US Top 10. The "American Doll Posse" of the title consists of five different female characters that Amos "developed around the album's 20 tracks". The characters represent different aspects of Tori's own personality : "For many years I have been an image; that isn’t necessarily who I am entirely. I have made certain choices and that doesn’t mean that those choices are the whole story." On tour to promote the album, Tori opened each show dressed as a different character. This rare poster features a photograph of Tori as her alter-ego "Tori (TerraTORIes)", based upon the Greek gods Demeter and Dionysus, and who is also the voice of the tracks "Big Wheel", "Digital Ghost", "Father's Son", "Code Red" and "Posse Bonus". This original poster depicts this character holding a Bible in one hand and the word 'Shame' scrawled across the other, while blood runs down her leg. As with all her releases with Epic Records, American Doll Posse was offered in a limited edition, which included two videos (a behind-the-scenes of her photo shoot and a slideshow-style bonus track titled "My Posse Can Do"), an expanded booklet, and five postcards, one of each "doll" in the posse.
