Lighten up with this take on our classic stainless steel Tromner Hammer. The MDF Tromner Light Hammer balances both cost and function into this formidable and precise instrument. Aka Tromner or Troemner, this versatile 4-in-1 dual mallet-type reflex hammer is made of lightweight materials. It is designed for effectively eliciting muscle stretch reflexes and superficial or cutaneous reflexes, as well as plantar and abdominal reflexes, with less effort and greater patient comfort. Save the weights for the gym. This balanced, chrome-plated, zinc-alloy head is outfitted with large and small mallets constructed of soft silicone for precise tendon percussion. This updated design is based on the classic reflex hammer invented by Ernst L.O. Tromner, MD, a director of the Neurological Hospital at St. Georg and professor at the University of Hamburg. The ergonomic lightweight HDP handle is precisely balanced for increased control of percussion force for eliciting myotatic reflexes. The pointed Babinski-style tip at the base of the handle elicits superficial or cutaneous responses, including plantar and abdominal reflexes. Unscrewing the tip at the base of the handle reveals the Built-in Brush, which can be used to elicit cutaneous reflexes.
